Tips To Get Rid Lines On My Neck

Horizontal lines on the neck is pretty common and there are several reasons for their appearance. Like your face, the skin on your neck is also quite delicate. Though we take ample care of our face, neck is often ignored until we notice something like this. 

Skin which has started to age will also show lines on the neck. These are also known as neck wrinkles and they can appear at any age. It is important to do something about it before they become more prominent. Here is how you can help prevent skin ageing with these foods. 

Another reason for the appearance of such lines is the sagging of skin or loose fat around the neck. Also, when one sits in a position where they have to look down or bend their neck too much, it can result in such lines.

In order to get rid of them or lighten them, keep these tips in mind.

  • Always moisturise the neck too along with your face. This will prevent the skin from drying and ageing too quickly.
  • Sun rays can affect any part of exposed skin and since neck is usually left uncovered, apply ample sunscreen before you step out. Also, try and cover the area with a scarf or dupatta when you are out in the sun.  Know how to get rid of sun tan with these home remedies. 
  • Try and keep your head in a straight angle instead of looking down. Do some neck exercises like stretching it by moving your head upwards and sideways. 
  • Whenever you apply any cream or lotion on your neck, it should be in the upward direction towards your face, don’t pull your skin downwards. 
  • According to Face Yoga Expert Danielle Collins, an exercise called ‘giraffe’ can help tone and lift the neck area. Here’s how to do the pose:

Looking straight ahead place your finger tips on the top of your neck and lightly stroke the skin down as you tilt your head back. Bring your head back down and repeat it twice more. Then jut your lower lip out as far as possible, place your fingers on your collarbone and point your chin upwards pulling the corners of your mouth down. Hold for 4 deep breaths. Relax, repeat. 

While these are methods which will take some time to show results, you can also cover these lines with the help of make-up. After your moisturiser, apply a primer to even out the skin tone. Know how to moisturise your skin naturally, here. Then, apply a medium base foundation and then finish by dusting the area with compact powder. Remember to take off the make-up in the night or else it get get lodged in the creases. This is ideal for people who do not have very prominent lines. If you have a double chin, try this remedy.
